CoolSculpting: Go with Confidence

cool

Rumor has it, the idea behind CoolSculpting was first discovered by a pediatrician in the 1960s. The pediatrician noticed that as kids sucked on popsicles, a dimple developed on the side of their cheek in which they had placed the popsicle. Concluding that the cold temporarily disabled the fat cells, the pediatrician noted that fat cells must be very sensitive to cold. Further proving his theory, as they finished their popsicle and their mouths returned to normal temperature, the children’s cheeks would again be dimple-free. Whether this is true—or a medical urban legend, CoolSculpting uses a similar premises.

What CoolSculpting Can Do for You

Stubborn fat is just that—stubborn. Resistant to diet and exercise, stubborn fat can be nearly impossible to target. Similar to the popsicle, CoolSculpting freezes away fat. The biggest difference, CoolSculpting is permanent. Dr. Burgess uses CoolSculpting’s innovative technology to target and rid your body of stubborn fat. CoolSculpting treats even the most hard to target areas such as the tummy, inner and outer thighs, love handles, and muffin top.

CoolSculpting’s unique technology uses controlled cooling to freeze and eliminate the actual fat cells creating a permanent solution to frustrating trouble spots. CoolSculpting contours specific areas, giving you a sexy, thinner look. During the treatment, CoolSculpting cools down the layer of fat just below the skin to near-freezing temperatures. As fat cells cool, the cells are damaged to the point that over the next two to three months, they will die. Once dead, the body naturally processes and digests the cell debris. CoolSculpting is able to selectively target fat cells, meaning there is no damage to your skin and surrounding tissue.

A non-surgical, non-invasive treatment, CoolSculpting is a far gentler alternative to more invasive surgeries. It may take multiple treatments, with the first focus on debulking and then followed by sculpting. The procedure is quick, taking only an hour in which you are free to read or check email—some patients even doze off. With CoolSculpting, there is little to no downtime.
