WHAT DOES THE PROGRAM LOOK LIKE?
First, you need to schedule a consultation with Burgess Plastic Surgery. You and your provider will discuss your goals and go over your medical history to determine if weight loss injections are right for you. If you are a candidate for weight loss injections, semaglutide injections will occur once a week, for four consecutive weeks. At the end of four weeks, you will have a follow up visit with your provider for possible dose adjustments.
At your first appointment, your provider will inject you in areas where you have pinchable fat or provide a teaching session on safely administering your medication at home. You will notice after your first treatment that you are beginning to eat smaller portions and lose weight. You may not be as hungry as normal, you’ll feel full for longer, and you may have a higher tolerance for your regular cravings. As you receive your weekly injections, you will meet with your provider on a monthly basis at minimum to document your weight loss progress. We will provide you with support, help with managing common side effects, and we can even refer you to a nutritionist to help you stay accountable to your diet in order to reach your goals.
When you’ve completed your program, we will assess your results. If you feel that you want to lose more weight, or you haven’t reached your goal, then we will determine if additional injections are right for you.
