Three Things that Differentiate ThermiTight® from Other Skin Tightening Techniques

Loose skin got you down? You are not alone. According to a recent report, over two-thirds of those surveyed responded that sagging facial skin was particularly bothersome. This does not come as a surprise to Dr. Burgess, as so many of her patients struggle with loose, lax, and drooping skin. With the introduction of ThermiTight to her Portland practice, Dr. Burgess has a way to successfully help her patients say goodbye to sagging skin in a minimally-invasive manner.

Targeted Technology

For a long time now, the only way to achieve a truly tighter, more lifted, and youthful appearance was through plastic surgery procedures such as a facelift. Like other members of the Thermi® family, ThermiTight relies on radiofrequency energy to stimulate the production of collagen—which helps the skin retain its youthful tautness. However, ThermiTIght is unique in that it uses a small probe placed just below the skin. “ThermiTight is a probe placed just under the skin to get even more improvement than a treatment on top of the skin,” explains Dr. Burgess.

Whereas non-invasive procedures rely on a topical application, ThermiTight works within the skin and therefore, is able to produce a better result. The fact that the energy is applied directly to the targeted area separates ThermiTight from other skin tightening procedures. While still minimally invasive, this unique positioning increases efficacy and makes for longer lasting, worthwhile results.

All Over Improvement

As so many men and women know all too well, sagging skin is not limited to the face and neck! Fortunately, ThermiTight effectively treats other problem areas including the breasts, arms, abdomen and even thighs and knees! For particularly troublesome areas, Dr. Burgess may recommend combining ThermiTight with a second procedure such as  liposuction or CoolSculpting®. When it comes to treating larger areas, like the tummy or thighs, “layering can give the best results,” says Dr. Burgess.

Long Lasting Results with Minimal Downtime

Depending on the size of the treatment area, the entire ThermiTight procedure can be performed within one to two hours at Dr. Burgess’s Lake Oswego plastic surgery practice. While you are likely to see results within six to eight weeks, most patients find that it takes upwards of six months to see their full transformation. ThermiTight requires only one treatment and results tend to last for several years. That said, Dr. Burgess reminds her patients that “it may also be important to have some type of maintenance plan because, unfortunately, the clock keeps tickin!”
