Silhouette InstaLift addresses midface sagging and wrinkles to produce both immediate and long-lasting results. For the procedure, Dr. Burgess will make small incisions in the treatment area through which the Silhouette InstaLift sutures can be inserted. Once in place, these sutures will be tightened to gently lift subcutaneous (below the skin) tissue into a more pleasing and youthful position, instantly lifting and smoothing the midface area.
InstaLift sutures are bi-directional and form a unique cone shape that keeps the skin elevated. Made of biocompatible Poly (glycolide/L-lactide), InstaLift sutures are gradually absorbed by the body. As this process occurs, collagen production is stimulated, allowing natural collagen to replace the sutures, add some volume, and retain the softer, more lifted midface appearance for two or more years.
How many sutures will be required and how long you can realistically expect results to last will depend on factors that are unique to you. During your initial consultation at our Portland office, Dr. Burgess will provide you with honest information about what you can expect to help ensure you are making the best decision for your needs.
Good Candidates for the Silhouette InstaLift
The best candidates for this procedure are men and women who are unhappy with sagging, unattractive skin throughout the midface – the triangular area between your eyes and the corner of your mouth. Although only minimally invasive, good Silhouette InstaLift candidates will need to be nonsmokers (or willing to quit well in advance of the procedure) and in generally good health.
This procedure is best for people with moderate sagging whose skin is not too thick or heavy. Those with heavier skin may be better candidates for facelift surgery. During your initial consultation, Dr. Burgess will assess your skin quality to help you determine which procedures are best suited to produce the results you desire.
You can learn if you are a good Silhouette InstaLift candidate through a one-on-one consultation at the Portland office of Dr. Elisa Burgess, a board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon with close to two decades of experience. If you would like to improve your facial appearance, Dr. Burgess welcomes an opportunity to meet with you, listen to your concerns, and guide you towards the most effective solutions.
You may not be a good candidate for InstaLift if you have a known allergy to plastic biomaterial or if you have a medical issue with the sutures. Please bring relevant medical information to your initial consultation to help in making this determination.
Silhouette Instalift offers a deeper and longer-lasting lift than traditional facial suturing techniques.
